Depends on if you're looking for a portable movie system/porn surfing machine or games.
PSP is great for movies and surfing the web wirelessly.. all on a tiny screen. I'm just as happy with a PC and DVD player, myself. According to what I've heard from owners and G4, the games just aren't there.
If you're looking for games, the DS is the way to go. With a seemingly endless library of GBA games and more new DS games all the time, it's the only way to go. Unless you're really, really interested in playing GTA games on a three inch screen. (I have, it sorta sucked.)

PSP and DS are both good. If i had the cash i'd get both. but since i didn't i got DS for Nintendogs and Mario.
PSP looks real cool, but the DS Lite is a major improvement on the original DS model.
DS can play GBA cartridges, but if you are spending all that $$$ on dual screen, you'd want to play DS-only games.
I go for DS cos the games that I want to play are mostly Nintendo. The reason is simple, their games are designed for small screens, and they have had years of experience with Gameboy to do just that perfectly.

Nintendo DS ALLLLL THE WAYYYYYYYY.
PSP is cool for sure with its media features but the DS is simply more fun to PLAY. And if that is the reason why you want a hand-held system (to play fun games) get a nintendo DS right now! New mario game, mario kart, castlevania, animal crossing, final fantasy games, brain age, etc., theres so many fun DS games.
My vote is DS by a LONGGGGGGGGGGGG shot. and i really want to buy a psp too but i just refuse to until i see some major support and some must own games.

I own a DS and my friend owns a PSP. He claims the DS has better gaming.
I just like that he can play music on his. The choice is urs really.

psp because the ds is trash wow TOUCH SCREEN wat a little kiddy game the psp is an ipod video mixed with a portable ps2 mixed with a laptop and a lot of new features are coming out while the ds is what you buy is what you get but that is not the case with the psp

well what do you want a PSP a music player, rpg, shooter system? or maybe you want a DS system to talk to people from afar,play platformers, mini games, fun random things
