I am pregnant and I doubt I will get a 3D ultrasound but I just wondered what they are like. I've seen the pictures and they are amazing. Just wondered if anyone has actually gone through that. My friend says its like actually seeing your baby when it's born. :)

(This is from my wife, actually). My baby is 6 weeks old and since it was a somewhat risky pregnancy I had lots of 3d ultrasounds. The office visit was just like a regular ultrasound, but the image is amazing. The nurse just picks a spot during the regular ultrasound and focuses in on it for the 3d part - its like she flips a switch. I loved having the pictures from the 3d - if the nurse is lucky enough to get a good shot of the babys face its just incredible - I felt like I got to meet my daughter before she was born. If you have the opportunity to get one, go for it!

Congrats on the pregnancy!

Gail

No, it won't disguise 3-d ultrasounds, only the effort-free black and white in 2 measurement. I certainly have certainly on no account met everyone whose coverage covers a three-d ultrasound, yet that does no longer mean no agencies do. i be attentive to mine did no longer. possibly if there are issues and that's mandatory they could...yet for the main area, the three-d/4d are seen only extra for relaxing. I had one executed at a private facility. I did the main inexpensive equipment, I have been given 4 shade prints, 2 black an white, and a ten minute ultrasound (no dvd or something like that) and it substitute into $one hundred. I stay in California.

Yes I had it done and it is awsome. I think my doctor suggested I be 26 to 28 weeks for best pictures. Some friends of ours had it done alot earlier and the pictures were gross. You could see the veins and stuff inside the body. In my little boys pictures my best friend said she thought she could tell that he had hair already- I thought she was crazy it looked like a shadow to me. When he was born (this is no lie) his hair was black and hung down over his ears. He looked like one of those troll dolls. It is fun to compare when they are born to the pictures.

My friend had one. If you wait too long in the pregnancy it doesn't work that great. She tried twice in the 7th month but technician said the baby was too big to get a good image. It looked like she was wearing a mask.

I didn't get a 3D done but I got a 4D done and it looks so real. I am amazed what technology they have came up with to see your baby.

Yes, it scared me for a long time. My baby girl looked like an alien with a huge nose. Luckily she didn't come out like that, but for a couple months I worried about it a little.

When I had my 3d's done, they showed my son's heart beat right there on the screen. I cried!!! I saw my son smile at me, get mad & kick while the tech. was filming. I saw him yawn & everything. It was the most heartfelt momment that I had while I was carrying him. I recommmend that every new or experienced Mother get one done.
