Just for those who need more info. to decide;
here's a quip from Wikipedia about a rock legend...
Freddie Mercury (September 5, 1946 – November 24, 1991) was a rock musician, best known as the frontman and lead singer for the English rock band Queen.
He is remembered for his powerful vocal abilities and charisma as a live performer.
As a songwriter, he composed many international hits, including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Somebody to Love", "We Are the Champions" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."
Mercury died from complications of AIDS, greatly increasing public awareness of the disease.
IMHO, I don't see any comparison, so my vote is for Freddie, since I have never cared much for Mariah's work.

I like Mariah Carey's voice and some of her music (especially with whistle register - purely amazing).
Freddie Mercury's voice is pretty distinct, and I do like "Bohemian Rhapsody" (very amazing).
But, I'll have to go with Mariah.

No, I don't like Mariah Carey. I liked maybe two of her early songs, but I like the songs and feel anybody could have sung them. She is very overrated.
