I think that when you give up your kid for adoption, that's it, period. You are no longer that child's mother.

What do you think?

You are so right. It breaks my heart everytime I hear about these parents who adopt a child and then have the mother come back and reclaim the child or let the parents pay for all her medical costs and go thru the anticipation and excitement and then change their mind.

well i think it matters if it was a open adoption that mean both party's know in advance that the mother will still be a part of the baby's life this works in many cases look there are circumstances that make a woman do such a thing and the child can only benefit ! usually this includes some visits, pictures ,school holidays that sort of thing and they get to know who there birth mom is and why that happened so they dont feel abandoned later in life which can be very damaging to them but everyone is intilted to there own opinion right god bless

That's debatable. In some cases the answer would be yes, while in others it's not necessarily so. It depends on the reasons you gave the child up. Sometimes it is truly the best choice to let someone else raise a child. I have seen many situations where mothers had no choice other than to give their babies up, and it wasn't because they wanted to. Please don't think that all women sign their rights away just because they dont want the burden of having the kid. Sure, lots of them do, but not ALL of them.

I hope this makes sense to you.

i think a birth mother should find a family that feels the same about all the things that come up with the adoption. i gave up my first son for adoption 13 years ago and we all have a wonderful relationship. he e-mails me all the time, and our families get together and go to the zoo and things like that, so i am fortunate
