Well here's the thing with the rich....tax loopholes were created for them......also when Vietnam came along they made sure that their sons did not have to serve. Only the poorest in our nation were drafted. That was their way of dealing with bettering society in their minds. Good question.

Not all rich people support the troops or hate taxes. This is a generalization. An individual person who has money may want to support the troops and may want to pay as little taxes as possible, but that doesn't mean that all rich people fall into this category. Basically, most people want to keep as much of their income as possible. In fact, I don't know of anybody, rich or poor, who feels that too little taxes are taken from their paycheck. People, in general, would rather take home as much as possible and then use that money in whatever way they see fit, whether it be donations to charity, panhandlers, friends, causes, etc. And, people in general support our troops regardless where they fight. And, people in general want the government to lower the debt. The trick is for the government to do all three. However, most government officials get elected by making promises of hand-outs to the populace, and they stay in office when they provide those hand-outs. Until we cut off discretionary spending on pork-projects, and until we cut back on all of the entitlements, we will never come out of debt.

I have never met a person who wasn't rich and didn't hate to pay taxes. Many people, rich and not rich alike, are exceedingly generous and give much to charity voluntarily, but do not like to be forced to part with their earnings in the form of taxes.
"Support the troops" can literally mean to provide them with supplies and pay their salaries or it can refer to the idea of providing moral support for the men and women who have been sent into harm's way by the actions of the government of the U.S. Whether you support or oppose our presence in Iraq, you can still empathize with the individuals whose lives are on the line and with their families, who pray for their safe return.

The government collected a RECORD $2.3 TRILLION+ in revenue last year. If you can not accomplish what you want to accomplish with that kind of money, then no amount will be sufficient.
I bet if you stopped hating rich people for a little while, your own life would improve.
