don't mistake fusion for smooth jazz, teaim. If you're feeling the george benson thing, you'll enjoy guitarists Norman Brown, Bobby Broom, and Rodney Jones. Benson's approach is the foundation for the smooth jazz movement itself so you may want to check out his earlier straight-ahead jazz albums and those of his influences Wes Montgomery and Grant Green.

Boney James is a super popular smooth jazz musician. He headlined the Saratoga Jazz Festival two years ago.

More smooth jazz musicians:
David Sanborn
Chris Botti
Dave Koz
Fourplay
Spyro Gyra
Yellowjackets.

PS-Oscar Peterson and John McLaughlin are NOT smooth jazz. If you're looking for smooth jazz, don't buy their albums.
