1) Over 75% of professional money managers underperform the average of the entire market!!! So, do NOT follow the lead of the "big-boys" because you will lag their underperforming results leading to horrible returns not worth the risk.
2) Due Dilligence---Don't directly invest into anything someone else recommends unless you did your own research and believe in the company as well (unless that person is Warren Buffet :) )
3) To actually answer your question unlike the previous 2.... my personal picks are as follows (still do your own research to confirm my thoughts)
AKAM (49.25) A great technology company. Current quarter growth is estimated at over 60%, while the industry is -4%. Even though this year is outpacing the market growth by about 50%, it is expected to again outpace market growth by about 30% next year. Fiscal year 06 earnings are expected to gain 67% over 2005's numbers, while Fiscal year 07 is expected to gain 38% over 2006. My personal target for the short-term is $60 (3 month time frame). As for long-term prospects, I expect the stock to hit at least 70 in one year's time.
If you want something more risky and having more reward potential, go with FRPT (11.83). The stock is under tremendou accumulation and could very well reach $15 by Christmas.

if you are looking at short term (not a strategy i personally recommend, but will not discourage either), you should find the sectors and industries that have been performing the best in recent months. you can go to sites like investors.com and they will provide you the tools you need to do the research. also, newspapers like Investors Business Daily and the Wall Street Journal are always listing the best performing industries. however, with today's market environment, things change very quickly, so be careful.

None, wrong philosophy...always follow the lead of the "Big-boys" and buy & hold...remember, "they" don't like loosing money...if you want short term stocks, buy a lottery ticket every week.
