Why is it that most of the questions asked and answered on this site are so full of grammatical mistakes and spelling errors ? Is this an indication of how poorly the schools are teaching English or is it that the writers aren't smart enough to use spellcheck ? Or are they just too lazy ? Whatever the case, it's really disturbing and often difficult to understand what they are trying to say.

Lazy/don't care. They are too busy trying to impress us with how smart they are that they ignore using simple tools such as spell-check. If they only knew how powerful the written word can be when being judged by others. Poor spelling and/or grammar is usually perceived by the reader as being written by an uneducated person, regardless of how accurate, factual or profound. That being said, I hope that I have conveyed a thorough thought, leaving no questions regarding my opinions on this topic.

US Life is always in Rushing..no one has enough time like you to criticize the answerer's or questioners, who bother to click Check Spelling, than click Done- than Click Preview and finally Submit..well some question itself is a difficult for answer,so leave them apart if you cannot understand. It's your will and willingness to answer the question.

I guess it's because we're lazy. People answering and asking could have no errors if they really tried, but I don't think people want to since they want to get their message across quickly and this isn't really a site where we are required to spell accurately.

All that, and that many of the questions and answers are by less-than proficient English speakers. This includes:
Schoolchildren
Non-native English speakers (from India, the Middle East, etc)
Drunks and drug users

It's dreadfully annoying, but I can live with it. Look at it this way: at least they're practicing!

This website is rife with virulent 'verbicide' and lackadaisical lapses of language arts - with many claiming "freedom of speech" to support their cloudy communications and trying texts. Granted, many here are pre-teens and teens (who ought to know better), or those whose native language is not English (their efforts though should be applauded).

It's true. People fail to realize that using incorrect grammar, or dumb abbreviations, turns people off of what they're saying, no matter what the topic is.

People are just too lazy, or don't care since they aren't getting graded for their answers hehe.
