Seriously, Harry Potter is a mega page-turner, I always read them within one or two days because I just can't stop. Also, once you get into it, The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb is really engrossing.
The World According to Garp by John Irving - I read that book in a day.

The Westing Game, by Ellen Raskin was really good. It's not a hard book to read either, only 216 pages.
Moonlight Becomes You, by Mary Higgens Clark was also fabulous. It's much more adult and had me up at five in the morning trying to find out who did it.

I am not sure if this brand new book would appeal to you or not, but it is powerful and moving, but, so far, only available online at Amazon.com. It's title is "I am your Disease" and it is a compilation of the stories of 40 families who suffered the loss of their children as a result of addictive illnesses. It is a REAL "eye-opener" because these stories sure don't fit the "stereotype" that most of us have about people who become drug addicts. I know that, on the outset, this might not sound like that interesting of a book, but, do believe it is destined to become a best-seller. It is unique and personal, and hard to put down.

More specific information on the genre of books you like would be useful for better recommendations. Just in terms of what I can come off with on the top of my head though, I would recommend...
Ender's Game
-by Orson Scott Card
A Game of Thrones
-by George R. R. Martin
both of these books - once I started I couldn't put down. :)

Warrriors Don't Cry by Melba Peals (or it might be Beals)
The Locket by Evans
The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom (extremely depressing, but a true story about the Holocaust)
