Here is the list of things I tried to put me into labor. Nothing worked and I ended up being induced three days after my due date. I even had my membranes stripped and that didn't do anything.
Castor Oil... 3 times with no luck.
Blue & Black Cohosh... Both of these are so gross tasting. I tried mixing them in with juice, pop and tea. I still tasted it. YUCK!!!
Raspberry Leaf Tea... It tasted great but that was about it
Evening Primrose Oil... Didn't do anything.
Sex... Didn't work. I think some man made this up. LOL
Nipple Stimulation... Brought some contractions on but stopped when the stimulation stopped. Plus my nipples hurt for days afterward.
Blowing Balloons Up... Didn't do anything.
Pineapple... Tastes great but the acid starts to eat away at your mouth after a while.
Changing Temps... What can I say, I was desperate.
Swinging... Had fun with my son but didn't do anything labor wise.
Chinese Food... Did it twice and it didn't do anything.
Walking... I have walked so much with nothing happening.
Bumpy Roads... I think I know all the bumpy roads in the county we live in, but that's about it.
Hot Showers... I always take hot showers and it doesn't do anything for labor.
When a baby is ready to be born, that is when you will go into labor.

You can go to the herb store and they will give you several things that are supposed to help, I have 6 children, they were not helpful to me when I tried. I know several people who have used Castor Oil. Several it has worked on, one I know only got diahrea.

My baby I had 5 months ago was induced by my doctor because of his size. My doctor did not want to do it even though it was only 9 days early, because babies are ready when they come he says. But he had no choice since this baby was 10 pounds 1 ounce, and that was 9 days early!! He was not quite ready and ended up in the NICU for 4 days. I had Castor Oil in my car and was so tempted to take it because the day my doctor had to schedule me for induction was a very inconvenient day, and I was so huge and tired and ready. I am so thankful I did not do it because I would have felt so guilty.

Think hard before you do anything too serious. If you have to though, Castor Oil will most likely work.

My labor had to be induced because I was 14 days overdue! But, some women I know have tried walking lots, sex because orgasm causes contractions, driving down a bumpy road in the car. Also an intense foot massage because certain pressure points found in your feet when stimulated cause contractions. if nothing works and you're overdue...ask your doctor if you can have labor induced.

I notice everyone on here said the same thing I thought when I read your question, lol. My doctor told me that sex will work especially if you orgasm. An orgasm is contraction in your uterus and therfore it might kick in the labor kind. It might not hurt to try. Good Luck. Oh and walking always helps, not only to help bring on contractions but also to tone the muscles in your body that you will need for labor.

Your baby will come when it's ready, or when the Dr. induces you. I tried walking, sex, and even drinking Castor oil YUCK!!! (I do NOT recommend this to anyone!) And I still had to be induced by the Dr.
You can't make the baby come out no matter how bad you want it to!!!

Sex & walking. I walked alot & had an orgasim the night before (actually about 8-10 hrs) my water broke. Of course I had lost my mucus plug 4 days earlier too. Then it could of been that I rubbed my tummy telling my son I was ready to hold him those 3 days too. I'd like to think that he was ready to see his Mommy, cause he was 2 weeks early.

on condition that a common complete term being pregnant is 38-40 two weeks my physician wont even evaluate inducing until after 40 two weeks except that's for scientific motives. if your physique/infant isn't waiting for hard artwork not something will artwork.

there are many things that people say work, although none worked for me. Sex is supposed to be the best way...walking, having ur partner rub ur feet, and nipples... some people swear by castor oil approx 2 tbsp., it makes u move ur bowels, and supposedly start contractions.

Raspberry tea, but I started drinking 1 cup every-other day at around 33 weeks. You have to make sure it's "real" raspberry tea, though, so I recommend you go to a health food store. I ended up having her 2 weeks early. :)
