Try So in Love from Kiss me Kate. It is a pretty soprano piece.

It is the song Lilli sings when flowers sent by Fred to Lois mistakenly get delivered to Lilli, Lilli falls even more deeply in love with Fred.

UPDATE: She's auditioning for a high school show, alot of times they prefer you to sing something from the show. My High School was the same way. In the college and professional world you would not however, audition with a song from the show.

Under most circumstances You would not normally sing one of the songs from the show You are auditioning for. I would Not advise You to try "Brush up Your Shakespear" unless You have a talent for Musical Comedy. Remember that "I'll Always Be True To You Darling (In my Fashion)" was dropped from the movie version, (so some for Your competitors would be at a disadvantage, wouldn't They?) yet it was a SHOWSTOPPER! If You can sing like Ann Miller (and dance like Her too) then by all means don't let fear hold You back. How familiar are You with the works of Cole Porter? Why not try "Don't Fence Me In?

Never ever ever sing a song or perform a monologue from the play you're auditioning for. It sets a mindset lock in the director and they won't be able to consider you for any other part.

I'd suggest some other Cole Porter tunes, like "Anything Goes" from that musical.

From the show...sing "so in love" or "Always true to you in my fashion" depending on who you want to be. If you are a pretty leading lady with a very straight sense of humor sing the first. If you can pull of the ditsy character with a great sense of belting sing the second and don't forget to ACT the heck out of it.
