quite a few family members tell me, that its best to not beat a boy in sports that the boy should always win. cuz if not it messes them up. is that really true?

Baloney..

My son plays with and against several girls in Travel hockey.. he's stopped a few pucks and allowed a couple of goals against girls.. All he ever sees is a hockey player..

If a boy's ego is so fragile to be 'messed up' by being beaten by a girl, then he likely has other problems anyway..

Letting a boy win, is actually worse.. for him.. and for you..

Never acquiesce your skills to anyone.. on the ball field, the ice rink, or the workplace..

The younger ones take it better, but the older they are the more bruised their egos get.

They have to learn about losing, so they can deal with it better
