A bath using johnson's nighttime lavender scented wash and lotion, a feeding with some added rice cereal to the bottle, good burping, then rocking in a rocking chair. Also, some gentle music. If none of this works, and baby is crying....run the vacuum for a few minutes. It really will put the baby to sleep. use any one or multiple techniques. All of these worked to soothe my baby!

A lavender sachet underneath the bassinet worked for us for a while. Swaddling, shushing and rocking does wonders. My first child lived in her Snugli and her swing for the first few weeks of her life. I honestly wore her wherever we went.
