Well, she will be in the hospital for a while so I assume she has probably already had her question answered.
The truth is the pain won't go away for a few weeks. C-sections are very painful. It's been 8mo since mine and I still get twinges of pain.

If the incision was vertical (belly button down) it will take longer than the lateral (bikini line) C-section because they had to go through more muscle. She is young so she will heal faster than say a 20 year old, but that part of her body wasn't really ready yet for a baby so she will need to be very careful to give herself plenty of time to heal or she might have problems carrying future pregnancies. The sharp pains should decrease over about a week followed by achey pains for a couple of weeks then, depending n the cut, a month or two of soreness. My prayers are with her and her baby for a speedy healing and release from the hospital.

I don't think that her age is necessarily going to be a factor for the physical aspect of her pain going away although it's possible that at 13 she isn't psychologically able to handle the pain.
C-sections are painful for every patient and anyone can end up taking a long time to heal 100%. Like someone else said she needs to get up and moving when the nurses tell her to even though it will hurt. It can help prevent complications like DVT.
As for Yvonne, don't listen to her. As a nursing student I take serious offense at anyone suggesting that a patient's age will determine the kind of treatment that person gets. They might not approve but they will not deny treatment. There will always be that one person who might not be professional, but how dare you lump all nurses together like that. And as for people trying to raise it for her, I hate to break it to you, every mother has someone who will try to give her "tips" on how she should raise the baby.

They should give her painkillers if she asks for them. After a c-section besides the pain at the incision, your body will be full of gas, once that passes she will be better off. The sooner she gets up and moving the sooner she will recover. But the pain should last for a few weeks, she will find it difficult to bend over and to stand or sit up.

Well, since your sister is so young, the nurses will most likely ignore her because they think that she is too young to know anything, so remind her to ask a lot of questions and demand answers because they will treat her like she's a newborn. Its going to be hard for her because she's so young, but she just needs to be the best mother that SHE can because everyone will try to raise her baby for her. I know how hard it can be because I had my first child when I was 16.

The doctors have told me that if I have a repeat c-section, I should expect to be disabled for 6 weeks. I know that with my first, it took at least a month to recover.
