Yep. You'll have to purchase a phone, probabaly at full price. If you want one of the deals or sales prices then they may have you renew your contract for an additional year or two. After two years you get a $100 rebate towards a new phone.

Try talking to one of the Verizon employees at a Verizon store. I think if you buy the phone, they should be able to switch your number to it with no trouble. However, if you want a free phone you'll probably either need to sign a new contract or prove there is something wrong with your old phone.

If you received a promotional price on the phone for your last contract which has more than 2 months left on it, you would most likely not get a discount on your new equipment.

You can purchase equipment out-right though without a contract, it's just more expensive.

I would recommend contacting Customer Service and have them review your account to see what your options are.

yes you can purchase a new phone anytime but you will be charged full price for it.
