a stihl 24 inch wouldn't be to big and don't get a magnum, just the lightweight one.

if you cut a lot and don't like to sharpen, get carbide, spendy, but stands the course, but stay away from dirt and nails.

You can't beat a Stihl......however last fall I had to clear a property. I bought a Poulan "Wild Thing" for 149.00 at home depot (got 10% of that price) We cleared a vacant piece of property and dropped 70 trees. The Wild thing never failed and as long as we kept the blade sharp it kept running wild. I put it away for the winter and just started it back up this November, 7 pulls and it was back a cuttin. A Stihl would be about twice the price for the same size bar and cc's. But a Stihl is easier to start and is more heavy duty. For the amount of time I spend with a chain saw, so far, the "wild thing" is working out.......hope this helps good luck
