I am amazed at the life of Christopher Columbus. While teaching my daughter I have learned so many significant things about his life story. One amazing fact is that he had a hard time finding support for his mission, so he had to find anyone willing to go. It just happened to be people from almost all the major nationalities that went, so the original boat that founded America was filled with people of all nations, who fought and argued the whole way. Just like America, right? I find that very profound. We have Columbus Day, but most people do not realize the sacrifices and difficulties that were made. Columbus also did not recieve much appreciation, they thought his voyages were mostly a waste of time since he did not find riches. He was also a very faithful Catholic, whcih I never knew. You can learn so much that holds significance to our American roots.

You should pick something in history that interests you,anything that has happened in the past is history so that is such a huge selection!,Since Thanksgiving is comming up,maybe that would be a fun topic for you. You can find out all about it online.

The Great Depression is a good topic to begin with.
Try listing the effects, causes, and remedies used to quell it. that should be a good 3-5 paragraphs at least.
