I am a twelve year old and a soprano. I might want to do a song from Wicked or Fiddler on the Roof, but does anyone have a good song that i might already know?

Hey Rachael,

It depends on your goal in the musical. If you just want any part, sing 'Off to see the Wizard', if you want the lead, try 'Over the Rainbow', but you need to have the vocal range.

Ooh! I was just in this play! Which part are you auditioning for that'll affect your choice.
unless at auditions they request a specific kind of song, I'd definitely go with a song that makes you sound really good. Don't do anything from wicked. As another user stated, everyone will be doing songs from that play. And definitely don't do anything from Wizard of Oz.

are you only looking at songs from musicals? I sang the song "Memory" from Cats when I was about 13, if you have the right expressions you could sound quite good on it. And from Fiddler, you might look at "far from the home I love" or the first part f "matchmaker" would be fun to do.

my final advice would be to choose a song you feel comfortable with, and that you sound really good performing.

Don't do Wicked. Everyone else will be doing that, since it is the hot thing right now. Directors get really tired of hearing the same song over and over.

You're a soprano...look into "Unusual Way" from Nine and"Much More" from The Fantasticks.

Do NOT sing anything from Wizard of Oz. That just angers directors, as it seems you came in there expecting a certain part and expecting to get cast. It is best to seem humble and polite in all ways.

It depends on your voice range, but of course you probably know that! Do a medium pace song, nothing to fast nothing too slow! But do something happy, sad songs don't always get you the "job"! Pick a song to where you can express yourself, use the stage, and relate too! Have fun it may be difficult! But you can do it!

I believe if you sing " Somewhere over the Rainbow ", being that you are a singer, it would put you over the top! That's a classic!
