Time is a river, across bends and turns
People are debris, tossed as water turns
Some come from the air, landing lightly on the surface
Others are from the river's bed, taken with a purpose
Each takes a different path, from beginning to the end
Bumping into random others, each with a soul to tend
A close up look shows more than the eye could comprehend
From far away just some water, curving round a bend

BEST FRIEND

One day, when I was 5, I met a little girl down the street.
She was pretty and nice, but she was a little bossy.
Everyday when she came over, we would play barbies, eat
cookies,and play in the sandbox.
The best thing I liked doing with her, was being with her.
I called her my Best Friend.
Then, things changed.
We were teenagers.
We no longer played barbies, ate cookies, or played in
the sandbox.
Instead, we went to movies, dated guys, and hung out with
other friends.
Then one day that year, while I was watching TV, I saw
that she had been killed.
They said that she was killed in the alley with three
knife wounds in her body.
As I cried to myself, I said "How can she die? She was
so perfect and she was my Best Friend!"
Now that I'm 16, I have a boyfriend and a new best friend,
but deep within my heart, the girl that I met down the
street, will *always* be my Best Friend!!!

As I entered my room I soon wondered why
There was a man on my bed eating a pie
Then I spoke up and tried to say hi
But all he did was put on a tie
And I thought to myself "who is this guy?"
And I said "Excuse me sir, I don't mean to pry,
But may I ask you why you are rubbing my thigh?"
He said it was by accident but that was a lie
"I don't believe you but it was a good try"
So I kicked him out and then waved bye bye
And I fell on my bed and began to fry
The chicken I saw out of the corner of my eye
But then I gave up and decided to die
