Wow that'll be an interesting one for their baby book!!! All kids put things in their mouths. You need to baby proof your home. Get down on hands and knees and crawl around on the floor and look for things that you know baby will like to put into her mouth or look for things that you know will be harmful to the baby. Get those out of reach. Put those outlet covers on ALL outlets that aren't in use. Get child safety locks for all the cabinet doors in the kitchen and bathroom, ESP where household cleaners are located (best to have them up on high shelves tho) Be extra careful of blind cords!!! Make sure that blind cords are up out of baby's reach and never put a crib close to a window that has blinds on it. I personally DO NOT have blinds on my windows just because of that. I watched a video once where a kid choked to death right on the family video camera with mom and other siblings there, because he couldn't make a sound. I had nightmares about that and immediately removed all blinds from my house. As for the crayon, they are supposed to be non-toxic and as long as it passed, there's nothing for you to worry about. I would keep an eye on her BM's for a while tho in case there are any other hidden treasures that she has in there for you. Good luck

LOL I think all kids poop out something weird at some point....my daughter for example ate the pause button off my dvd player remote and sure enough the next day there it was again. You really just have to keep a close eye on her and get her a few teething rings. Crayons are non toxic though so I wouldn't worry about this time too much.

Kids eat all sorts of interesting things, change, crayons, legos, etc...
Since the crayon was returned (pooed out) there is no worry... Most items a baby toddler eats will pass through them in a few days (retrieve it if you choose... I never chose that option)... If you know your child has eaten something keep an eye out for it at the other end also watch for fever, lack of poop, and/or stomach tenderness... Some items may become caught in the bowels and need to be surgically removed but most will pass through unassisted...
Among my 3 kids they have swallowed legos, coins, crayons, a superball (small rubber ball), erasers, etc...
As long as the item is nontoxic don't freak out til it hasn't come out the other end in a few days...

that really made me laugh. but i bet it was pretty scary! first of all, don't listen to all this smart people telling you that you didn't watch her close enough or need to houseclean. it takes just one second for her to get into trouble. and a crayon is not like a button, it's a toy. it's supposed to be out for her to use. so, leave the crayons out, childproof as good as you can and keep doing your best on supervising her. for the teething try teething tablets from Hyland's. they're homeopathic and really work for my son! give her stuff she's allowed to bite on. my son doesn't like teethingrings so we improvise. a blanket, or his stuffed animals... sometimes a wet washcloth. by now he knows what's for biting and eating and what's not. your daughter will learn, too. just take the crayon out of her hands when she bites it and give her a teething toy instead, she'll get the hint. good luck to you and thanks for making me laugh!

ALL OF YOU NEED TO STOP IT like all of you havent had one or two things that have happened that you wish hadnt. People that live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. My son pooped out a big red gum wrapper once still intact and I was horrified but kids put stuff in there mouth and sometimes they swallow it a foster mother that I know had a child who pooped out a really long string of dental floss and she had to pull it out. Just take a few more steps to baby proof your house and put the baby in the play pen when you cant be right there on top of him watching every move.

its hard with a mobile baby one sec there fine and the next there across the room eating a crayon the best advice you can get is to just baby proof your house keep those things out of her reach and know that things happen to even the very best of mothers.

Babies try to eat everything they can get hands on so maybe keep small items out of her reach if you are unable to watch her every move.

You keep an eye on your baby. You search the house and try hard to keep things off the floor that might harm her.
One baby of my EMT colleague's swallowed a button, and choked to death The thread on the button wrapped around her tonsils, and it couldn't be dislodged in time.

Keep a closer eye on her ...... anything of lower level for you to reach - she can reach.
Thank goodness she passed it - many items can block the esophagus as well as lodge in the intestine.
There are teething items but make safety check of all areas where she is allowed to play--remove anything unsafe.
The teething will pass but she is a treasure!

There is nothing you should do. She's fine, although I don't think the crayon is in all that great of shape.
