I have a normal laptop keyboard and I see the num lock button and it's in blue writing underneath scr lk but whenever I press it only the scr lk goes on. And I've tired pressing shift and then it but that doesn't work. Help?

You might have a button that says 'Fn' next to your CTRL or ALT buttons. Press this and hold down the Num Lk button at the same time. The blue 'Fn' button corresponds to anything in blue. It might not exactly say 'Fn', but look for something in blue by those two buttons.
