That quote is from Paradise Lost by Milton. A great thinker and excellent poet. Milton was strongly committed to the Puritan cause. He was a radical Christian individualist who objected strongly and vocally to all kinds of organized religions which, he believed, put barriers between man and God.
Milton was therefore a rebel because he identified himself with a
revolutionary cause. Paradise Lost, his masterpiece, is about
rebellion and its consequences.
One way of looking at the poem is to see it as Milton's working out of his own position. Although many readers have thought that Milton is really Satan, he probably saw himself as Abdiel, the angel who refuses to go along with Satan. Milton was arrogant in his belief that he understood the truth and had a duty to explain it for everyone's good.
Do I believe in that statement? I think people take from it what ever suits their own thinking, just as whatever religion or path we take as an individual to promote our purpose.
I think it would be better to serve Heaven, since Hell is also what I believe to be true................

No serve ion heaven is better it's difficult to rule in hell everyone wants to topple you.

Do I agree? Nope. Milton wrote in metaphors so basically anything he said can be misconstrued.

i imagine everybody has kinda missed out the large image the following. The devil punishes murderers, rapists, pedos the undesirable who do not repent am I good. God forgives as long as they ask forgiveness. nicely wager i recognize who the more effective god is in my eyes. Your weak the devil could of ruled the heavens a minimum of it would want to of been a honest and purely position. i might want to fairly stand by his area torturing a rapist than walking which incorporates one in heaven. flow suck an egg you brainwashed idiots

I would agree, but I would be happy either way for heaven doesn't want me and hell is scared that I would take over.
