I can't use the birth control pill any more because I was just diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder. I know condoms are a good choice, but I'm getting married in a month and I don't want to have to use them with my hubby. I can't use anything with estrogen or progestrone (sp?) in it, so is there anything else anyone would recommend? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

honestly, thanks to all of you who are recommending abstinence...
but did you miss the part where I said I was getting MARRIED in a month? I think sex is a slightly important part of a marrige.

there are many options but still have some side effects. you can also use iud, or natural family planning methods. you can ask your gyne for birth control that may suits you and your hubby.
see this site for more info: http://www.fwhc.org/birth-control/index.htm
congrats!

Abstinence.
No, really...check and see if the sponges have estrogen/progestrone in them. I'm not sure. I think the Nuva Ring does, so that's out. You can go with spermacide only (I'm like you - can't do the hormone thing), but that has a lower success rate of preventing pregnancy (with everyone except ME, apparently!).

Well. I would suggest an IUD (inter uterine device) It is a metal object put in your uterus to prevent pregnancy. I doesn't have any hormones in it and can be removed when you want to get pregnant. Speak to your doctor about this alternative. Good luck and have a wonderful wedding ! ! !

The asprin method is infallable, but you probably don't want to do that either. (keep an asprin between your knees and as long as it stays there you don't have to worry about getting pregnant) You can ask your doc but I think the only other alternative is surgery.
