could I consider them as utilities, public services? I really need a word that describes all of the words.

I would have to say they all have the article adjective 'a'. They are all public services.

20th Century necessities - that did not exist when our country began.

They don't exist in many foreign countries....and are not missed except by foreigners visiting.
