Honesty - above all else for me - I can never fully trust someone who I know has lied to me, even just the once.

To find the Golden Mean between virtues. Every virtue has an excess and a defecit. People are drawn to these two extremes, which then become vices. Aristotle viewed the virtuous man as one that can find the Golden mean between an excess and a defecit.
For example:
Excess (rudeness) Golden Mean (honesty) Defecit (deception)
The highest virtue is to find the Golden Mean for every decision.

The theological virtue of charity - or loving God and neighbor unselfishly, as God loves.
No virtue is a true virtue unless charity is present.
Charity is the form of all other virtues.
Otherwise, without charity, all apparent virtue or doing good is nothing but a disguised and subtle form of self-seeking (such as doing a good deed for the pleasure involved or the applause involved and not selflessly for the sake of the other person. Such counterfeits are more common than imagined, and most often very hard to detect).

That golden mean thing sounds nice.
Selfishness is the best virtue. Without selfishness, what would motivate others to keep going? What makes the world go round? BE PROUD OF THE SELF, BE PROUD!

The ability to go against all you have been taught and do what is right instead!
Not an easy choice if you live in crappy, crime ridden community. Only a truly good soul makes it out!
