Extensions for collecting UI checks are in effect only during periods of high unemployment and only if the state or federal government take specific action to provide extended benefits.

26 weeks is the normal period. During times of high unemployment, this can be extended up to another 13 weeks. It happened in 2003 - I don't think there's an extension right now, but your unemployment office could tell you for sure if you call them.

You have to be looking for a job to collect at all.

there will be those that attempt to take income of the gadget no count what the policies are. the secret's there is no longer adequate jobs suitable now. a great majority of the unemployed opt for to paintings. So ought to we turn our backs on our fellow individuals? for sure no longer. 2 years is a sprint plenty in my view yet ignoring their desires could have worse effects for the rustic. whilst all and sundry is desperate for money, crime rises. i think of the extension become necessary.
