Don't know where you're from, but gas didn't drop for the elections in my area, and it is still right about where it was on November 7 (maybe even a little lower, only $2.09 right now).
NYMEX oil futures for December delivery are the lowest since the middle of 2005, which means that we may see even a little lower gas prices by the first of the year. There's no guarantee of where they will go from there.
We all need to stop trying to read some kind of "conspiracy" into this. It's all supply and demand. Republicans don't own or run all the oil companies. Any question on that? Just start with Hugo Chavez.

Well Election Day is in November and so is Thanksgiving! I think that's the reason. I mean people go visit relatives or friends and that's traveling. When you travel with a car, you need gasoline correct? When something has high demand, the product price goes up!

It's called supply and demand;wouldn't it be wonderful, almost miraculous,if our president could just dictate world oil prices? Does President Putin get credit when prices go down in Russia?

simply by "grant and demand" conspiracy. iciness has been warmer than everyday so some distance (aside from the previous couple of days), which led to much less use of heating oil. Heating oil is produced from crude oil, and much less use of it has led to greater grant of crude oil, making the fee of crude bypass down. gas is likewise produced from crude oil, and over 50% of the fee of gas on the pump is predicated on the fee of crude. OPEC has some administration over the fee, yet not as much as they use to. They already diminished manufacturing to develop the fee, however the fee persevered to drop. reducing manufacturing motives much less grant, which makes the fee of crude bypass up. yet there are a number of non-OPEC oil producing international locations available now that OPEC would not have the potential they use to.
