What if you and your ex still had feelings for each other, and wanted to get back together, but you realized they had had a LOT of sexual partners in the years that you have been apart. Would you make them get tested for STDs before sleeping with them?

of course, why wouldn't you. but do so in a polite way so as not to offend the other person. how about both of you go and get tested together and sit down together when the results come and reveale them to each other and go from there. personally we are talking about your lives here. i work in the feild of medicine and seeing these diseases first hand is not a pretty thing. ease your mind and take him somewhere nice and easy, talk it over a nice dinner and explain to him that you are concerned for the overall health of the two of you, not just your own. if he cannot understand this then you dont need to be with him and move on.

You should if you want to make sure you aren't going to get an STD. Your ex might not even know he has one.
