Because you are your best friend. I spend the most time with myself than anyone else so I might as well be friends with myself. Though I don't always get along, I've got my back. ;) I may sound conceited but I'm not. I love the people around me and I don't know what I'd do without them but it's important to trust in yourself and develop good judgment. People should talk to themselves to work out problems and get to know their true selves. :)

We all need to human contact, more specifically to talk to other people. Sometimes when we need to talk to someone about something that is going on we can't or we are afraid to do so and we talk to ourselves. You're right, we all do it, just some more often than others. It isn't dangerous unless you start hearing voices, and even then the voices are only dangerous if they start telling you to do things you don't want to do. It is not at all bad to hear voices.

Great question, and I love your Yahoo ID .... Philosophically speaking...I suppose we talk to our selves because we can. It's fascinating though isn't it? High voltage batteries = longer lasting power! Smiles :)

I think that it is just something like, thinking out loud. A lot of times I'm trying to figure something out or something and the words just come out as I'm thinking them.
