i live in washington dc and i never really thought about this until just now. the games are shown at 1pm and 4pm eastern time, plus a few night games. so that means people in the west coast have their games at 10am, right? that sucks.

Yes, the Eastern Time Zone has it easier for Sunday afternoon games, but the Pacific Time Zone has it easier for the two night games on Sunday and Monday. It is not necessarily "tailored" to fit the Eastern Time Zone, but if it were it makes sense as there are many more people there than in the Pacific or Mountain Time Zones.

Major League Baseball makes no secrets that it does schedule according to the more populous East Coast because advertisers want more viewers. That is why playoffs or World Series games in the Pacific Time Zone are scheduled to start at 5 or 5:30 PM local time.

Yes and no. Games are tailored to the East Coast, however you don't see Seattle, San Fran, etc., playing 10 am local games.

Worst is that on Monday Nights, games start at approximately 5:30 pm west coast time. Most people are just coming home when that game starts.

The time slots are tailored for the east coast but living in Calif. I like it that way. We don't have to wait halve the day to start watching football and we can see all the games and still get to bed at a decent time which is good for those of us who go to work early in the morning.

To the best of my knowledge, they kinda sorta might be. Money
or ratings might be the reason.
