I've always wanted to be white and I am crushed that I have to be mixed. I mean black people are ok and all but I rather be one of the beautiful people.
Am I wrong for feeling this way?

It is actually a normal part of your development to want to be a member of the dominant group. I have studied racial identity development models and most of them have a stage in which people from the minority (or in your case, of mixed heritage) desire to belong to the powerful group. I don't think you're crazy, and if you want more info you can Google racial identity development model and you will probably get some hits by Cross and others who have done work on this subject. I'll go ahead and tell you that the studies on biracial individuals are just beginning to be done. Boy r u going 2 get alot of answers to this buddy!!! However it's flattering though u r already beautiful just cause u want 2 be...white isn't all it's cracked up to be....Some day when we're all dead the pot will be soooo mixed, Indian, Arab, white as marshmellow people, black as coal people all thrown into the bowl like cookie dough and the most beautiful human form will emerge, carmel color with the most beautiful eyes and tall and strong.....then there will be no prejudice.

It should not matter what the colour of ur skin is.It shouldnt matter if u r tall or short fat or slim people need to learn to love themselves and develop a high self-esteem.You are mixed u should embrace that and rejoiced that u have 2 different heritages.Nothing is wrong ith being black, blacks are some of the most beautiful people.Just lift ur head up and say i am beautiful and embrace life thats all that matters

Black people are beautiful. Be who you are, thats what God made you and you are perfect. I have a niece that is 1/2 black and 1/2 white and she is one of the most beautiful little girls I have ever seen. I have seen many people that I think are very beautiful and they are both black and white. Besides, real beauty comes from the inside, not from the color of your skin.

Charles, it is not wrong, but you are already a unique and beautiful person with something to give to society. You will be blessed if you are a good person who does his best each and every day. You will find a wonderful person to love you if you are honest, kind, and truthful. Study and make the best grades you can. Find a major that you can contribute to mankind. Be thankful for everything you have not what you do not have. I am biracial, half anglo and mexican, and I love any race no matter, but I do not love bigotry and hatred towards any race. Peace.

It isn't about being wrong, it's about having esteem issues. I don't care what race or color you are, there are no differences amongst people. I am white, my wife is a dark India-born woman. I love her and her people and the whiteness of my skin with the brownness of hers makes no difference. it's sad that many non whites think being white is so great, but it's a myth that should be squashed now because it can only cause further racism. it's who you are, not what you are. if you think otherwise than who you are needs some work.

I don't think you are wrong but I do believe that you are mistaken that you have to be white to be one of the beautiful people. I know a lot of mixed race people who are far more attractive than I am!
I hope you can come to accept yourself as you are. Michael Jackson did not and he has really made a mess of his face!

Please don't be down on yourself. I think all of us have wanted to look different at least once in our lives. I'm white, but I have wanted to have different hair or eye colors. It's a matter of looking at all your positive features. I think black people have beautiful lips, always full. You never have to worry about getting a tan. Me, I spend hours trying to get a tan, to be darker during the summer. Start looking inward too, focus on how beautiful you are on the inside. Trust me, I run into plenty "white trash" in my race. Be proud. I'm sure you are truly one of the "beautiful people." Just look at yourself again.

Isn't what we don't have, usually the thing we think we want most?
I feel that 'wanting' anything is not 'wrong' - only frustrating (when the desire is an impossible one, such as you mention)
and in your particular case - wanting the impossible must be creating tremendous conflicts for you . . .
I disagree with your assessment that 'whites' are THE beautiful people - but - to each his/her own, because it's the differences in this reality that seem to keep the world going 'round.
