Pujols is the better overall player. He is the best pure hitter in the game. Howard put up great numbers this year, and should he become consistent, he will rank high on the list as well. The MVP this year should go to Howard, but he is not, yet, better than sir Albert.

Albert Pujols is a more complete player (hitting, fielding, base running) than Ryan Howard. Both are young but you can not go wrong choosing either player. This year Ryan Howard had better statistics than Pujols did, but Pujols missed about three weeks with injuries.

Pujols is better. Howard had a great year, but you have to remember, he strikes out a TON and plays in a stadium that gives up a lot of home runs. Also, if you factor in that Pujols spend time on the D.L. than there would not be much of a difference in homers. Pujols is also a better hitter, and hits well over .300 every year. He's also better defensively and won the Gold Glove.

Howard should win MVP this year. but Pujols is the better hitter. Howard swings and misses alot. But for a slugger, which is what Albert is, he makes a ton of contact with the ball.
At the top of the answers... Jill, the fact you said that what Howard has done in one and a half years, because he didnt get his first full year till this year..but for you to say what he's done is unmatched makes you sound clueless... were talking about albert Pujols.. the numbers albert has put up since coming to Majors are Mind bogglingly historic..go check for yerself... Howard has a LOOONNGG way to go before he can sniff Pujols... and no, im not a Cards fan, im a Yankee fan. the argument can be made that albert could have won the MVP every year of his career, including his rookie year AND this year..and he very well might have if not for Bonds steroid induced numbers getting him MVPs

Ryan Howard should be MVP. What hes done in two years in the league is hard to match by anyone int eh future or compare to it in the past. What hes showing to put a team on his back and singal handidly win games is crazy. Even the national team in the International games that just past by bailing out the U.S. many times. The only thing that Albert Pujols cna say is that he has done that consistently for the past few years and has been one of if not the best in the majors.

Albert Pujols is better because he was ahead by what 10 homers then he got hurt and was out 4 a whole month....plus he's been in the MLB longer and he means more to his team

I like Pujols, year in year out he produces elite numbers. He is the best player in baseball. Defensively he is better than Howard and most importantly he hits in the clutch and he hits good pitching. Howard is great don't get me wrong but Pujols has earned the title of best player in the MLB for now and for the next few years.

Pujols, give Howard 2-3 years similar to what he had this year then talk about who is better.

Pujols is better. He has played consistently every year since coming up, and bounced back from a month long injury to still be an MVP candidate this year.
