in my culture that's true! _

i mean that is a true quote, not that the quote is true, teh woman is always blamed for the things that are wrong with the family whereas the man gets all teh credit.

the sad thing is, usually it's the woman that does all the work and the men that either destroy it, have no part in it, or play quite a small role in the up bringing of the family.

if there is no woman in most african families then the family breaks up, the children are divided or must otherwise fend largely for themselves.

It is like saying why are minorities so mean, because people are mean to them. We give what we get. In this day and age everything in life from being gay to abortions to living with someone without marriage is all acceptable now. Everything is politically correct. Except the sin of being fat. That is one thing people will not forgive, over look or accept. If they did why does every magazine cover have a new diet? A new diet pill? a new diet organization? Or just group therapy. From the cradle to the grave we worship those who are paper thin. Look at the Miss America, pageant, they are 6' tall and weigh in at 110. the most beautiful women in the world. Yet, the average women is 5'4" and weighs 140 pounds. So she is given an impossible example to fashion herself after.

I don not agree with this. but it means Men are the privilege gender and what ever males do is always right ! It also can be blaming the victim rather solving the problem. An example is a women wore a sexy dress and was all dolled up in a bar and when she walked home this entitled a guy to follow her out of the bar and raper her.

I have BA in women's studies.

To me it means bad grammar. Are you sure you wrote it correctly? (I'm a language teacher, so that's the stuff I see)

(Are you a woman? If so, it's probably your fault)

BTW So am I !!

Edit: I read your additional question about where the quote comes from. My immediate thought was the Jodie Foster film "The Accused". I searched on the net for 'the' quote but failed to match, however, I saw how many times that phrase shared that common ground. I hope that isn't what you were getting at, I would hate to have reacted facetiously if so.

I have an opinion based on the story of creation as told in the Bible.
As Adam and Eve disobeyed God's first commandment "you shall not partake in the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil" (my paraphrase), they all of a sudden felt the need to 'hide'. God addressed Adam first who put the blame on Eve, and Eve put the blame on the snake.
Modern Man seems intelligent enough to know you can't blame a stupid animal for anything, but they haven't evolved sufficiently to know that blaming their mate is just as stupid -
hence 'it is always the woman's fault' is a quote referring to the very first 'fault'.

have heard it turned round and the male say "it's always the mans fault" is a matter of the platform you operate from. Nothing is always ever a gender related thing. Though sometimes things like this banded about suggest a lack of understanding and a communication issue.

I guess this quote was said because of Adam and Eve-you know how men think its it was Eve you presuaded Adam to eat the apple and then all forms of hardships was started so in a way its easy to say "its always the womens fault' even when it comes to society, family life and in other areas of life.

Most men cannot admit they are wrong they have a complex.men cannot multi-task unless they are taught how. But a woman can talk on a phone with an infant on her hip while stirring a pot. Women are always right... does not necessarily mean that the man is wrong. Men are never right!

That is an awful misquote. The real quote is:

"Nothing is ever a lady's fault"

From The Go-Between by L P Hartley.

It's never just the woman fault. Most of the times it's the man fault. Truthfully it take two to make a relationship work.
