You either have to enjoy chatting with customers or be good at faking enjoying that chatting.

Go into any small store and there is the owner acting like you are his dearest friend when you come in to get a $1 Twinkie. Is he happy doing that or does he want you to be happy about being in his store? Either way you have to seem sociable. If you have little tolerance for that you will not be a success there.

In any business venture, being able to effectively communicate with your client base and employees or other business leaders is essential to building a business or managing a company.

I used to not like to talk to people that much but I found an opportunity with a financial services company a few years ago.
I helped people out of debt and recruited to build a business within the company and also helped my recruits to build their biz.
This is a 6-7 figure opportunity and helped to motivate me to challenge my fears of talking to people. You need to find what motivates you and set goals for yourself, or you might need to find a biz that fits your personality. Best of luck..

You don't need to be sociable but you will need to know how to deal and communicate with people in a professional manner.
How to do that? Ask yourself: how do I want to be treated as a customer or a hotel guest?

I'm taking a management course at college and our professor has repeatedly told us: "There are managers who are great with the people side of business and there are managers who are great with the paperwork side af business. The best and most successful managers are great at both." If you are great at one, consider finding a partner who can help you with the other. People skills are difficult to learn, but they can be improved.

Good luck to you!

Yes I think in that profession you should be a people person.
But you could still be successful if you like what you are doing, you would be sociable enough if you were enjoying yourself.

In business it is more important to be right. Social does not mean kissing a sz. It means being polite.

I've been in business for decades, and I tell costumers how I see it. I never let anyone walk over me. Customers are like employees, they are replaceable.

yes , you have to be sociable at any business when your dealing with the public. you have to be sociable to employees & if theres problem with booking a room they come to you & complain & if your not nice to them you loose your buiseness

(people will not put up with bad service period and go back to it. you got to make it place people want to go to ).
