Everybody should see it at least once. The music is the best. You would probably enjoy it best if you saw a full-scale production of it, with a professional ballet troupe. The kiddie versions are cute but the real thing is mesmerizing.

It's a story about a girl who receives a Nutcraker for Christmas and it comes to life in her imagination. It's a ballet. You can see it on DVD I'm sure if you can't afford to see it in the theatre.

_The Nutcracker_ is a ballet performance set to classical music by Tchaikovsky, so if you don't like ballet dancing or orchestral music it is likely not for you, but....

Having said that, this is one of those things that has indeed become a timeless classic. :) Almost any production of it is going to be good to excellent in quality, and is quite a spectacle to behold.

The basic plot...nah, I won't spoil it, but I will give you a Wiki link, but you understand, that link might have spoilers. ;)

Hope this helps. :)
