the cubs signed mark derosa to a 3 yr/13 million dolalr contract
they signed henry blanco to a 2 yr/5.25 million dollar contract
they signed kerry wood to a 1 yr/1.75 million dollar contract
they signed aramis ramirez to a 5 yr/ 75 million dollar contract
and of course will sign soriano to a 8 yr/136 million dollar contract

so in 07

derosa makes: 4.3 million
blanco makes: 1.8 million
wood makes: 1.75 million
ramirez makes: 15 million
soriano makes: 17 million

so lets see that is a total of 39.85, or around 40 million
the cubs payroll is $94,424,499 or around 94.5 million

so 94.5 - 40= 54.5 million dollars

so they have spent a little less than half their payroll

and guess what, they won't win a world series

I would estimate the Cubs spending around 80-100m this year.

Saying that they will suck because of the curse is just beyond stupid.. Beyond so stupid that it's funny, this is so stupid that I'm speechless....
