Not really.
Austria was a hotbed for antisemitism at the time of Hitler's youth, for the same reason a lot of people still hate Asians, or Jews, for that matter.
The Jewish community was rising in Austrian society, they were on average better educated and had become influential in society.
The lower middle class and proletarians were told by the rabble rousers that it was the Jew's fault that they could not get decent work, that the Jews were after their women, and the usual tosh that racists have spouted at all times. If you read the cheap newspapers and trivial literature of the time you can see that this racism, directed not only against the Jews, but also Gypsies and black people, permeated the whole culture.
The parallels to the present day are obvious, there is only a different target group.

No, it came from a belief of Eugenics, a form of evolution. It basically states that we are seperated from the apes and those farthest away evolutionary must be superior. So came the belief that white, blond haired, blue eyed and square headed person was superior since there are no blond blue eyed apes and they are typically darker skinned with round heads. I would post a link but any site with it will be a mega racist site. Believe it or not there are still some who believe this even today.
Remember, Hitler also had a thing for blacks, gypsies, gays, psyciatric patients, ect... Jews are the most talked about but were not the only target of Hitler.

I believe so. But I believe the core reason was that they blamed Jews for the economy and the fact they lost WWI.

It came from being decimated in WW1. They picked the Jews because it was an easy target.

In part I'm sure. Europe had a long & bloody history of theologically based antisemitism. It has been making a comeback in recent years.

No, it was because of economic reasons; the Jews were the richest people in Germany.
