It can give viruses. You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at

I got a virus from lime wire 2 times....First time i got it my whole computer crashed soo abd that there was no way to return all the files I lost...and i lost soo much important stuff.....but I refused to believe it was because of lime wire so i started using it again after rebooting my whole hardrive....after a few months i got another virus which did the same thing.....Now i learned what is safe to download and what's not...Plus Now you can't realy get any thing of lime wire, they bugged it so if you search for a song they will show a song and when you click on it, it will take you to a web site which tells you that you can buy this song for 1 dollar. So don't expect anything out of lime wire, it was nice while it lasted but now its just like kazaa

ANY P@P program is going to be a source of viruses. When you download anything you should scan it for a virus, or for spyware and adware. Also, considering the number of perverts out there, check ANYTHING you download for kids before allowing them to see it. I tried to get Shrek for my nephews when I was babysitting them. 20 porn movies later I deleted the program. I'm glad I checked to be sure they worked. The LAST thing I'd want them to see is some of the BIZARRE things on THOSE movies.

I didn't know you could DO that to a duck.....

Hello,
I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. you should get limewire too. It's a good peer to peer software if you have to download mp3, movies, videos or documents. Here you can find a good place where to download Limewire: http://bit.ly/VMentm
Limewire is a safe and reliable program but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are donwloading from it. You always have to be cautious about what you download.
Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.

Cheers.

Any p2p programs will have very serious virus's. You are downloading stuff from some one elses computer so assume it probably has some backdoor trojan which will hack into your pc and do serious damage.

Yes, if you don't have antivirus protection you can get a lot of viruses. Go here and download one of those free antivirus programs and you'll be OK:
