In Scotland, it was routinely 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Some independent schools had a slightly shorter day than the state schools, for example 9:10 am to 3:40 pm.

School was never ment to be a permanent year round job but they turned it into one and know the people who do the least for the schools get payed the most in the school budgets

my mom says 730 to 3 but got up at 530 to catch bus into town to go to school.
