My daughter brought home a sheet of riddles. We are thinking that either 1. - the teacher threw in a regular question to throw them off, or 2. there is a trick to it. Here it is...what was the president's name in 1981?

If it's a riddle, then the answer is George W. Bush. In 1981, the President's name was the same as it is today.

If it means, who was the president in 1981? The answer is James Earl Carter was president at the beginning of the year and then Ronald Reagan was inaugurated Janurary 20th.

Ronald Reagan was president from 1981 to 1989 he took over for Jimmy Carter who was president from 1977 to 1981.

The President's name is George Bush....and in 1981 his name was George Bush.
