No, you don't even need an internet connection at all to have wireless.

Wireless just gives you access to your local network. If your network has a shared internet access, (wether it be dial-up, DSL, Cable, or even T1-T3 doesn't matter) then the internet connection (however fast or slow) will work through the wireless.

Most wireless today works at least 11Mbps, which is faster than most broadband internet connections.

You can use any internet connection you wish, but broadband internet (DSL or CABLE) is definately better!

All you need is a wireless router and wireless card for any computers you have. Basically wireless refers to a network even if it only contains one computer and a modem. Dial-up would still be slow and connection to the router would be tricky, but it is do-able. There is alway commercial wireless service, the supplier send out the signal, you need a wireless card and account with the supplier, then you are connected anywhere in the service area, like a cell phone. Good luck.

High Speed Internet is just how fast you get your information.

Wireless or wired is how that signal is transmitted to your computer.

The two aren't the same.

In short, yes you should be able transmit your dial up to your computer wireless. The problem is... I don't think there are any devices that can take in a modem transmission, then send that to your computer. I am not saying they don't exist. Just that I haven't heard of it.

Sometimes you can get DSL at nearly the same price as dial up. So why would you want the hassle of dial up? If it was me, I would go cheap DSL and get an inexpensive wireless router and VIOLA! You're set.

No you don't, you are in fact less likely to be bandwidth limited by your wireless, as it will be almost certainly faster than, for example. a dial-up connection.
