Right now there is a great deal on a laptop that is good for basic home use. It is an HP and you can get it for $299.99 after a hundred dollar mail in rebate. There are some restrictions but I will definitely be getting one... It is such a steal! Check out all the details at the links below...

Oh ya you can actually get the notebook for $99.99 but you have to jump through a lot of hoops and it will probably will end up costing you more in the end...

Good Luck!

STAY AWAY FROM COMPAQ!!!!

I bought a compaq PC in January of this year. It has been back and forth to their repair center FIVE TIMES!!! The last time it was because the ethernet modem just decided to quit. I sent it in, they sent it back... it won't even boot up! All their tech support is in other countries and getting a tech support agent who speaks English is a rare miracle. Getting one who knows anything about computers other than what their computer walk through tells them is a REAL miracle. I was so angry that it came back not working at all, I opened it to check the problem. I used to build computers so it isn't like I was heading into fantasy land without a map. Even if I had never seen the guts of a PC before though, I'm pretty sure I'd have recognized something was wrong when my PROCESSOR WAS GONE!!!!

COMPAQ SUCKS!!! They are owned by Hewlet Packard.

Buy a Dell. They may be more expensive, but they WORK!

Dell. You said inexpensive, and they are reliable. I have one and it is wireless. Only spent $600 for it, and I love it.
