Well, I've worked in Retail for the last eight years, and the reasoning behind that is, so the company doesnt get stuck with the overstock of Christmas stuff at the end of the year......I think it sucks too, its like three holidays wrapped into one.

The Stores don't recognize Thanksgiving at all. When the last of Sept. comes around they have all the Halloween things out, which is all right. But here in South Carolina in August they start to put out Christmas things.

My opinion as well! Christmas is my favorite holiday, for pretty much all the reasons that are the opposite of what goes on these days ~ I love being in a calm, quiet place with my family and friends, sharing the love, relaxing....SO not what Christmas has become! I do my shopping in the middle of the night at this time of year for that very reason.....

Try a website called seasonalconcepts.com. I think it is still functioning. They are a company that deals with every holiday as it approaches and not a lot of overlapping the seasonal merchandise until the end of that holiday. I do agree with you about feeling like some of the holidays kind of get lost in the mix, unless you're a gov't mule then you have about 11 days off for the unimportant holidays like earth day.

Christmas is in my heart all year but it's the manufacturers and store owners with their competition priorities that are screwing up. It's too bad the old boycot methods don't work any more. My personal thoughts starting next year are going to be a card with a few bucks in it and let them do their own gift thing AFTER Christmas.

I know what you mean I love Christmas the sights the sounds the smells it all but i like all the other stuff too. I used to work at Younkers department store and they had Christmas stuff out in October until February. Sometimes longer. It gets out of hand.

i also think that too, christmas is a good holiday but all the other ones are just as important. however people do celebrate the other holidays, but they are not as big as christmas is. thats what i think

I will second that...Christmas is for family ..who cares about the giving anymore its all about the wanting and that has spoiled the Christmas season for me..want want want ...you get what you are given..my opinion

People are comercializing Christmas!! Crazy money-driven CEO's... Everyone has forgotten what Christmas is all about.

I agree. Christimas is way to commercalized! It was meant to celebrate God's birth, but have you seen any Jesus figgures (except in chuches?)

I mean COME ON, it's SO time to celebrate Jesus! Not a christmas tree and present - it's time to celebrate JESUS!
