Why are you curious?

Dame Judi Dench was nominated and won for her role as Queen Elizabeth (Best Supporting Actress) in Shakespeare in Love.

This year, Cate Blanchett will likely be nominated for her role in Babel. I presume you mean for the Academy Award, but often the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards are different from the Academy's.

Or.. were you referring to height? I'd guess that Jose Ferrer as Touluse La Trec might have been the shortest character? Minime never got a nod, did he?

I believe that Beatrice Straight's Best Supporting Actress award for "Network" was the shortest performance to win the award. As I recall, she was only in one scene, the scene in which she confronts William Holden about his affair with Faye Dunaway.

Judi Dench's performance in "Shakespeare in Love" was of similar length.
