it is far superior to anything preceding as far as the original stories are concerned. hair colour aside, daniel craig fits the description of james bond perfectly. he makes him human. he falls in love, makes mistakes, is seriously hurt and visibly distressed when vesper dies at the end, again more faithful to original stories where bond was often sick after killing or seeing people killed, and was frequently injured. the fight scenes and set pieces are gritty and believable (unlike the absurd 'windsurfing an arctic tidal wave' scene from die another day). although i am a huge fan of the other films, casino royale was a much needed breath of fresh air as the series was becoming repetitive and stale.

I loved the new film. i grew up with bond and though i enjoyed every film on its own merits, i wished they'd go back to the books and take bond back to basics. at last they have done it. I re read Casino Royale recently.. a smashing novel.. and wondered just what they would do with it. i was more than pleased with the results. if only John Barry could have done the score.

I would say the new Bond movies are better. The way the movie is protrayed fits the time era we are in, instead of the old bond movie where you can find those gadets almost anywwhere. The new James Bond fits the character perfectly and is probably the best one there ever be.

For me,Roger Moore was the best Bond!This is simply because he hammed the role up and played it with a touch of humour.Connery was the ultimate Bond but he did not match Moore for his humour.As for Lazenby,enough said!Timothy Dalton portrayal was made of sterner stuff in his 2 movies.Brosnan was excellent.Daniel Craig,wait and see!

Daniel Craig really pulled it off as OO7! This guy is a hunk! His crystal blue eyes are mesmerizing. I hope they keep this actor for many more Bond films.

Thumbs down. Daniel Craige COULD do a good Bond, but I don't think he's going to have the chance the way the movies are going.
(I want Sean Connery!!!)
