My boyfriend has smoked weed 5 or 6 times a day for over a decade and I got pregnant 6years ago from him and had an ectopic pregnancy, I havent been on birth control since and have never had to worry about getting pregnant, I thought it was my problem but could this be because he smokes so much?

I disagree with all the yes it can make you sterile. My husband smoked weed for over 6 years before I met him. He hasn't smoked weed for over 2 years now. He is clean and everything is fine. He was worried he was sterile because of all the drugs and weed he used to do. I am 17 weeks pregnant now and I am very healthy and so is the baby. So no I don't think it can make you sterile. He got tested and wasn't sterile at all. It might depend on the person but I don't think so. Good luck.

Trouble conceiving? A lot of women in the projects with multiple children smoke weed. I don't hate women that smoke weed, to each its own.

Yes. THC, the active chemical in marijuana is very similar to ESTROGEN. That is why male chronic marajuana users grow boobs!

Why on earth do you want a chronic pothead to be your child's father?

Find a more responsible, mature man and MARRY HIM and then have kids.

Your boyfriend is very likely emotionally stuck in a adolescent behavior pattern. Chronic addicts never grow emotionally or socially beyond the point when they started abusing substances.

So if your boyfriend started smoking pot heavily at fourteen, he's stuck somewhere between fourteen and sixteen emotionally.
That makes him very BAD father material!

my fiance smoked every day for 7 1/2 years and was still smoking when we decided to start trying to have our baby. As soon as my birth control was out of my system I got pregnant right away.

Even though the answer is yes, if he were sterile, you wouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place.

Yes, most definitely.

Researchers have proven that smoking weed can decrease your sperm count, and after such a long period of time, he may be sterile.

How could you let him continue such a costly habit?! If I were you, I would have cut that habit from day 1.

I have never heard of it making anyone sterile. (Think Paul McCartney still making babies.) What it can do to males is bilateral breast development. Unfortunately, it does not work that way for women.

I've heard of weed doing a lot of things so this could probably be caused by weed but I'm not sure. You should get yourself checked out and if its not you then it must be him.

Yes, marijuana can lower the sperm count. Heavy use can also lead to birth defects. If you two really want to have kids, he should quit for a while.
