It does sound like a rumbling appendix. If it's only playing up a bit there's no way a doctor can diagnose it. Withe appendix problems the pain starts in the left then goes to the right. So if it moves to the right get to the A&E!

Other than that I'd suggest a food intolerance, probably wheat. I'd cut out all carbs for a week and see if the pain diminishes. I can't be bothered to deal with my wheat intolerance, so I have continual abdominal pain. Stupid cow that I am.

If pain killers don't work has anyone checked to see if you have some type of nerve damage? Narcotic's don't generally work very well for nerve damage. You would need a medication like Neruontin to help with the pain.. Just a thought.. Hope you feel better soon.

This isn't very helpful but might be something, I get really bad pains in my side once a month when I ovulate - apparently it's not that uncommon. But I would have thought they'd have suggested that.

I had pain on the right hand side and no definitive cause was found, the doctor said it was referred pain from my back.

What the first two people said sounds right to me. It sounds like a problem in the ovaries. Good luck.

That sounds awful! If I were you I would go to another doctor it is probably a simple problem that your doctor is missing.

Years ago, I had similar symptoms, turned out I had cystic ovaries, once they were removed....no more problems.
