I work in a restaurant, and tonight I had a two Canadian guys. They were very sweet and nice at first, but after a few drinks one of them turned to me and said 'where can I get p!#$y?' I replied with 'a petshop' and turned and walked away. The next time I went there he said 'I want a hot p%$y' I was shocked, so walked away without saying anything, and gave them their bill despite the fact that they were half way though their desserts. They protested, but then paid and left. They were my last customers and I was the only waiter as its sunday night, and they left me feeling like scum. HAVE RESPECT FOR YOUR WAITER. WE DONT GET PAID MUCH AND HAVE TO PUT UP WITH A LOT OF ABUSE.

I think people that have been in that line of work can sympathize. I did it through college and now have a great respect for waitstaff. I do not stand by and ever let anyone at my table be rude or disrespectful to our server because I get it. Don't let a couple of jackasses ruin your night, there are customers out there that appreciate what you do...like me! So stop feeling like scum because you are awesome!

I'm sorry that 2 morons treated you this way but I'm at a loss why you think that had anything to do with them being Canadian. I'm a Canadian, born here and except for a brief stint of living in the USA I have lived here all my life. I use to work for a major airline and have traveled the world extensively. Rudeness is not something reserved for Canadians by any stretch. I could recount my encounters but it serves no purpose. It sounds like you handled the situation well and with some dignity. Me? I might have been tempted to hit the big mouth over the head with my serving tray.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! I'm so sick of rude people who take advantage of you serving them, and then they don't even leave a decent tip. I served someone tonight who lifted up her glass because she wanted another refill- she didn't say a word. I was just by the table 2 seconds before that asking them if they needed anything else too. I'm just really sick of being super nice and doing beyond what I should for these people. I especially love the verbal tip... or the believe in Jesus cards they leave with no tip.... I do believe in God, but I also believe in tipping!

So yes, I could keep venting, and it really does get to me a lot. If it weren't for some good tippers, I wouldn't serve anymore. This past weekend I made less than 10% of my sales- and I have to claim more than what I actually made. We also have to tip out, and I don't think ppl realize that, so that pulls a lot of money out as well.

In your case, if those guys come back, and you get stuck with them, tell them if they can't act like adults, then you won't serve them.

There's always going to be guests like that. That's why people that work in hospitality for a long time seem to dislike people in general. All my coworkers (at a private dining club) have had bad experiences like that (I learned my lessons and moved into the kitchen). You just have to decide if you can put up with that b.s. every once in a while.

I live in Canada in last 20 years; Canadian never were treated respectfully by their parents, teachers, managers, and Government and police. You can not believe a lot of teenage girls and boys came to me ask for sex in front of $5 or $10. However I reject as in Islam & Iran it is a crime to do that. A 14 years boy told me that his father since he was a kid had sex with him for a little money. Many Canadian Husbands they don"t mind if they wives bring a man to their home for sex or even have a 'boy friend' if they get some kind of compensation. The corruption and crimes in Canada is fully under control of the police; therefore, you have right to 'not know' what kind of evil people are the Canadian; for a very little money they do the worst crimes, even killing immigrants. So, what Canadian told you it is Canadian Culture. I can feel and have sympathy for you. Please look to my web sites and see how dirty really Canadian are, that may help your heeling.

No doubt one was trying to impress the other on your behalf. Great comeback, but don't let a grain a sand ruin your night.

I apologize to you on their behalf. Personally that type of people should be shot. No waiter deserves that.
