dstr,,,never say it can not happen,,if our wars keep on ,then ,its just a matter of time ,and the dem,s could use the draft for a power play...and if they had any good results with it overall,then ,2008 could swing dem,,,for shure...just thoughts....

It would put them on the sidelines in the 08' elections. Old Charlie was only making a point that if the draft existed the republicans would think a little harder about starting wars. He did have some interesting views about a draft should it be instituted again.

Let's see. The Dem's win the election because people are against the war in Iraq. They shouted from the roof tops "Bring our military home!" So what do the Dem's do? First thing out of the shoot they want to institute a draft? Someone said something about putting close to a millions troops in Iraq. Where in Sam's hell are we going to put them all? They do need fed and they need housing and medical. Then we are going to have to deal with all the brats that don't want to be there in the first place.

If you listened to Charlie Rangel, he is proposing a draft as a way to make americans think twice about supporting Iraq. Only 1/3 of americans support that war, and if a draft was reinstated.....Americans would want out of Iraq ASAP.
