The Irishman Richard Harris who apart from playing Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films played many fine rolls one of my favorites being A Man Called Horse.

Actor Richard Harris, who played Dumbledore in the first two films, died in 2002 at the age of 72 of Hodgkin's disease. He was replaced by Sir Michael Gambon.
